I cannot wait for this book to come out on Mothers Day! I've been on the fence - should I get that cosmetic surgery? Would I be sending the wrong message to my daughter? Self confidence for a woman is paramount, how can we watch Desperate Housewives together without her being embarrassed of her mommies love handles?!?! I was worried about her fear of my bandages, mind you, not her own self image .... Not anymore!
My Beautiful Mommy, a new picture book due next month, will explain a tummy tuck and nose job beautifully. I guess I can get the boob job while I'm at it, since the illustrations show higher, fuller, perkier boobs post surgery; no explanation needed!
And, while I'm at it, I might as well start that savings account for my darling daughters nose job or breast augmentation as her graduation present. Won't she want to be perfect, too?

As some of the readers commented at Newsweek, this really says so much about how sad our society is. Boy, this hit me in a heavy way. So glad to see a mother addressing this! Thanks.
